Multiwall Polycarbonate Sheeting

Meridian supply multi-wall polycarbonate sheets which are UV protected (co-extrusion) on one side. The sheets are self extinguishing and comply with the most demanding of international fire resistance. They have excellent thermal insulation which results from the air cells inside the hollow structure of the sheet. It has a much higher insulating ability than single walled, corrugated or solid flat sheet. It offers low heat loss (or gain) and therefore higher efficiency. The 'U' value is a number which measures the quality of thermal insulation. Lower values for a material mean superior thermal insulation. All sheets combine the following features:

  • High impact resistance.
  • 10 Year limited warranty.
  • Remarkable insulation.
  • Excellent structural properties.
  • Excellent light transmission (up to 80%).
  • Solar Control option.
  • Wide service temperature range (-40oC to +120oC).
  • Good fire resistance with no emission of toxic gases.
  • High architectural versatility.
  • Conservatories.
  • Carports.
  • Patio Canopies.
  • Civil engineering and industrial skylights.
  • Greenhouses.
  • Swimming pool covers.
  • Covered walkways.
  • Illuminated signs.
  • False ceilings, partitions and cladding.

on both sides. The sheets must be stored under cover with the proctective film left in place. When protected with the film, the sheets should not be left exposed to sunlight for any length of time, as the sun's warmth can be magnigied as it passes through the stack causing excessive temperatures and a risk of the film adhering to the sheet. Care must be taken when handling sheets due to sharp edges.

The polycarbonate sheets can be cut using either a handsaw, jigsaw or band saw. When using a portable or fixed circular saw protective eyewear and gloves must be worn. It is recommended that a fine toothed high speed steel saw blade be used. An allowance of 4mm on all sides should be made around any item positioned through the sheet to allow for thermal movement
